The Information Services Department is responsible for the overall management of Information Services within the Municipality. The overall goal is to ensure that the Municipality has the technology and related services in place to meet its business needs. The duties include: corporate IT planning, setting corporate IT standards, procedures, and guidelines, planning and implementing the technical and architectural direction for the IT infrastructure and supporting the Municipality's Geographic Information Systems (GIS) needs.

The Information Services Department also manages vendor relationships, the establishment and administration of Service Level Agreements, delivery of corporate IT and administrative services, budgeting, workload, and departmental relationships as it relates to Information Services.
